Competition entries

Greetings everyone.

On Wednesday 11 June entries are due for Competition 5 - Open.
As of this competition and from now on when submitting prints,  you are also required to submit a digital version of the print.
The digital prints are to be in the same format as EDPI entries
  • Maximum size is 1920 by 1080 pixels.
  • file size up to 2MB.
  • IMAGES ARE TO BE SAVED IN JPG FORMAT and
  • sRGB COLOUR SPACE.
Please ensure that you submit the images in this format.  When you submit your entries just put your images in another folder named Prints.

A maximum of 4 EDPI entries per member presented on a disk containing a folder  with your member number WHICH IS YOUR competition number, and the number of entries example. “ 71comp5(4) ” (without the quotation marks).
Inside the 4 image files you need to have a title consisting of 25 characters or less, member number, comp number, example: “out of the mist71comp5” (without the quotation marks). In the above example the title has 15 characters which includes spaces and punctuation. This new rule will also apply to print titles.

If you are unsure of the guidelines you can also view the competition rules on the DVPS website.

Please note that the judging of your image will be based on the print and not on the digital entry.  The digital entry will be used to show on the results night where the judge makes their comments.  This way it is a lot easier to see the images as they are speaking about them.  The prints will be on display as normal for all to see at the end of the evening.

The Nature Of Light

Thanks to Brian for his great presentation on "The Nature Of Light". For some it would have been a refresher, and for some there were some new things to learn in there. Either way the slides from the evening are now up in the "Members Documents" section, so you can download them and review the material. (Don't forget that you will need to log in to get to that page). As always if you have questions catch up with Brian or one of the club mentors.

Club Trip to Point Nepean

Hope everyone had a great trip down to Point Nepean. It is a great location with varying subjects to photograph with something for everyone. Even the weather played a part in the photography for the day. I know that Steph came away with some very nice seascapes! Your images can be used in any of the appropriate competitions during the year, but also can be included in "Lil Rayner" competition at the end of the year. Thanks to Allen and Nannette for organising the event!
